This is a huge milestone we've crossed. The U.S. has now administered just over 50 million doses. Back in late December/early January we were sitting just around 4 million doses, so that means we've went up over 40 million doses in just the past month or so.
No matter what happened before and who's responsible for the major spike in doses, this is exactly what we need to see. The more shots in arms the faster we can begin the get things back to somewhat normal. I wonder what the number is that we'd need to hit to make it so it begins to not be such a major threat. Is it 150+ million? I'd think the 50% number would be really important to determine how fast the rest of the nation can get back to normal.
Yeah 150mil would only be 75 million people, if they all have to get two doses. So that'd be slightly less than 25% of the country. So I would say at least 50 - 75% of us would be cause for feeling like we are on the cusp of putting this behind us. Well on our way!
50mil is something like only 7 or 8% of the country so far. Great progress but we do have a long way to go.
