Well, that's good to know. NASA announced that the Earth is safe from 99942 Apophis for at least another century. This thing had been identified some time ago as one of the most potentially hazardous asteroids to our fragile planet. Recent radar observations have ruled it out the 1,000 foot asteroid. One that size could kill 10 million people, researchers say. Astronomers predicted that the asteroid would get really close to Earth in 2029, and perhaps in 2036 if it didn't hit us. Now it looks like we might be in the clear from this one, at least for now.

Yeah I'd have to agree. Perhaps it's the way that light reflects off of it or something? I know astronomers can pick up a lot just by studying objects through their powerful telescopes.

I seriously think it's because of the media pushing these stories out everyday, left and right with the same foreboding undertone.

This is great added news. Thanks for sharing that. I'm glad there's more than one effort to clean up space junk out there.

Really glad to hear this is actually happening. It's definitely going to make transitioning back to the norm smoother, I think.

Yeah, it's a terrible problem. My wife and I recycle everything we can. She even makes special trips to a recycling center that will handle materials that our every-day collection service can't. I watched a documentary once where they were saying that human beings are shown to have plastics in them because of our everyday exposure to plastics.

Thought we'd get a Dr. Fauci quote post going. Let's all sound off of on some of the most well known, and possibly humorous quotes by DRr. Fauci. One in particular comes to mind. I'll start off from when he quoted the Godfather movies in response to Trump's smack talk.

“[Addressing the virus is] the only thing I really care about. That other stuff, it’s like in 'The Godfather': Nothing personal, strictly business as far as I’m concerned. I just want to do my job and take care of the people of this country,” Fauci said.
